The Albrecht House – Garden
Hledíková & Matejča
The picturesque house of the Albrecht family, with its garden, is a place of importance for classical music in Bratislava. Generations of artists have experienced it as a symbolic space with an inimitable genius loci, filled with love of music and “music-making at home”. As part of the Viva Musica! festival, the Albrecht Garden welcomes two young violinists Terézia Hledíková and Daniel Matejča. Terézia Hledíková is currently studying at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and gaining a profile as a soloist and a chamber and orchestral player. She has played many concerts in the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Italy, France, Austria and Luxemburg, and she has won high placings in a number of all-Slovakia and international competitions. In 2018 she appeared as soloist at the Václav Hudeček Festivals of Music in Prague; participating in the Violin Virtuosos Masterclasses project held in Bratislava, she has played beside the world-famed Midori Goto. Daniel Matejča is one of the impressive Czech violinists of the up-and-coming generation. He is a prize-winner in several competitions, including the Kocian International Competition and the Georg Philipp Teleman Competition in Poznan. He also won second prize at the Concertino Praga International Competition and first prize at the Eurovision Young Musicians’ Competition in Montpellier. Matejča has given concerts in France, Italy, Poland, Germany, Singapore and Japan. The two young soloists will appear together with the Sinfonietta Bratislava orchestra, conducted by the violinist Pavel Bogacz Jun.
