Only few works in classical music are as recognizable and universally adored as Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. First published 300 years ago, this iconic cycle of violin concertos continues to captivate audiences with its expressive power, dramatic contrasts, and stunning virtuosity. What makes this work truly unique is Vivaldi’s remarkable ability to evoke the natural world—birdsong, thunderstorms, gentle breezes, and the icy stillness of winter —through the language of Baroque music. In 2024, the acclaimed Janoska Ensemble infused this masterpiece with a bold and innovative vision. Blending Vivaldi’s original composition with their unique improvisational flair and genre-crossing creativity, have created a fresh and dynamic interpretation that bridges past and present. Released by Deutsche Grammophon, their version now comes to Slovak audiences for the first time. The Viva Musica! festival is proud to present the Slovak premiere of The Four Seasons in this unique arrangement by the Janoska Ensemble, performed together with the Viva Musica! Orchestra. The guest of the concert will be the eldest of the four Janoska brothers, Arpád Janoska.
