Adriana Kučerová vystupovala na prestížnych operných scénach vrátane Teatro alla Scala v Miláne, Opéra national de Paris, Bayerische Staatsoper, Wiener Staatsoper, Staatsoper Unter den Linden v Berlíne, Semperoper v Drážďanoch, Staatsoper Hamburg, Národného divadla v Prahe, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Opéra Royal de Versailles, Teatro Colón v Buenos Aires, Dallas Opera, Houston Grand Opera a mnohých ďalších. Jej repertoár zahŕňa širokú škálu lyrických a koloratúrnych postáv ako Sophie (Werther), Anne Truelove (The Rake’s Progress), Norina (Don Pasquale), Zuzanka (Figarova svadba), Adina (L’elisir d’amore), Gilda (Rigoletto), Marzelline (Fidelio) či Violetta Valéry (La traviata). Vo Wiener Staatsoper debutovala v roku 2012 ako Adina a v nasledujúcej sezóne sa na viedenskú scénu ako Adina vrátila po boku Juana Diega Flóreza. V roku 2017 pridala do svojho repertoáru Rosinu v opere Il barbiere di Siviglia v tom istom divadle.
Veľký ohlas kritiky získala jej interpretácia titulnej postavy v Janáčkovej opere Příhody lišky Bystroušky v Opéra Bastille v Paríži. V roku 2024 sa v tejto úlohe predstavila aj v Slovenskom národnom divadle v Bratislave v úspešnej inscenácii v réžii uznávanej slovenskej režisérky Slávy Daubnerovej a pod taktovkou svetoznámeho Juraja Valčuhu. OperaWire ju opísal ako „temperamentnú, divokú, odvážnu a láskyplnú líšku“ s „pevne vedeným, výrazným a pohotovým hlasom“. V apríli 2025 sa k tejto postave opäť vrátila v novej produkcii v Theater Münster, v réžii Magdaleny Fuchsberger a pod taktovkou Gola Berga.
Medzi ďalšie významné momenty jej kariéry patrí stvárnenie Juliette v koncertnom uvedení Gounodovej opere Roméo et Juliette po boku Pavla Bršlíka vo Federation Concert Hall v Hobarte na Tasmánii, postava Violetty v novej opere Ľubice Čekovskej Impresario DotCom v svetovej premiére na festivale Bregenzer Festtage pod taktovkou Christophera Warda v roku 2020, debut ako Violetta Valéry po boku Pavla Bršlíka v La traviate v Slovenskom národnom divadle v roku 2021, ďalej Liu v Turandot, Karolína v Smetanových Dvoch vdovách v Prahe či Orffova Carmina Burana na festivale v Českom Krumlove, kde sa predstavila aj na galakoncerte po boku Plácida Dominga.
Ako všestranná koncertná umelkyňa vystúpila na Salzburger Festspiele, BBC Proms v Londýne, festivale Glyndebourne, Pražskej jari, festivale Opera Rara v Krakove, Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi, na Viva Musica! festivale v Bratislave, Athens-Epidaurus festivale, v tokijskej Suntory Hall či v National Centre for the Performing Arts v Pekingu. Spolupracovala s poprednými orchestrami a dirigentmi ako Daniel Barenboim, Gustavo Dudamel, Fabio Luisi, Juraj Valčuha, Christopher Hogwood, Vladimir Jurowski či Nikolaus Harnoncourt.
Adriana Kučerová je víťazkou Medzinárodnej speváckej súťaže Hans Gabor Belvedere v roku 2005. Medzinárodný prelom v jej kariére nastal v roku 2006 počas Mozartwoche Salzburg a Salzburger Festspiele, kde účinkovala ako Serpetta v opere La finta giardiniera pod taktovkou Ivora Boltona – inscenácia bola následne vydaná na DVD vydavateľstvom Deutsche Grammophon. Medzi jej ďalšie nahrávky patrí sólové CD Songs s piesňami Bartóka, Janáčka, Martinů a Suchoňa (2016, Viva Musica! Records) s klaviristom Robertom Pechancom, Mahlerova Symfónia č. 2 s Londýnskym filharmonickým orchestrom pod vedením Vladimira Jurowskeho (2011, LPO), Dvořákove Milostné piesne s Christophom Eschenbachom a Quatuor Thymos (2011) ako aj dva DVD tituly z festivalu Glyndebourne – Verdiho Falstaff (2010) a Humperdinckova opera Janko a Marienka (2009).
Adriana Kučerová je držiteľkou Ceny Nadácie Tatra banky za umenie.
Na festivale Viva Musica! sa v minulosti predstavila spolu s Pavlom Bršlíkom na koncerte West Side Story pri príležitosti 100. výročia narodenia Leonarda Bernsteina či v rámci sólového recitálu s klaviristom Marianom Lapšanským. Tentoraz vystúpi s francúzskym súborom Thymos Ensemble pod vedením huslistu Gabriela Richarda (Orchestre de Paris, Thymos Quartet).
„So súborom Thymos som sa stretla už pred mnohými rokmi v Paríži, keď sme spolu s Christophom Eschenbachom nahrávali album s piesňami Antonína Dvořáka. Neskôr sme spolu účinkovali na festivale Fougères Musicales a veľmi sa teším, že s týmito výnimočnými hudobníkmi môžem opäť vystúpiť – a to práve na festivale Viva Musica!,“ uviedla Adriana Kučerová. V ich podaní zaznie program venovaný hudbe Leoša Janáčka, Bohuslava Martinů, Antonína Dvořáka, Clauda Debussyho či Ernesta Chaussona.
Adriana Kučerová has graced many of the world’s most prestigious stages, including Teatro alla Scala, Opéra national de Paris, Bayerische Staatsoper, Wiener Staatsoper, Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, Semperoper Dresden, Staatsoper Hamburg, the National Theatre Prague, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Opéra Royal de Versailles, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Dallas Opera, Houston Grand Opera, and many others. Her repertoire spans a wide range of lyric and coloratura roles, including Sophie (Werther), Anne Truelove (The Rake’s Progress), Norina (Don Pasquale), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Adina (L’elisir d’amore), Gilda (Rigoletto), Marzelline (Fidelio), and Violetta Valéry (La traviata). She made her debut at the Wiener Staatsoper in 2012 as Adina and returned the following season alongside Juan Diego Flórez. In 2017, she added Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia to her repertoire at the same house.
She received critical acclaim for her portrayal of the title role in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen at the Paris Opéra Bastille. In 2024, she performed the role at the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava in a successful production staged by renowned Slovak director Sláva Daubnerová and conducted by the world-renowned Juraj Valčuha. OperaWire praised her as “a feisty, wild, bold and loving vixen” with “a firm voice, expressive and agile.” In April 2025, she returned to the role in a new production at Theater Münster, staged by Magdalena Fuchsberger and conducted by Golo Berg.
Other highlights include her performance as Juliette in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette alongside Pavol Breslik at the Federation Concert Hall in Hobart, Tasmania; her acclaimed portrayal of Violetta in Ľubica Čekovská’s Impresario DotCom, a world premiere at the Bregenzer Festtage under the baton of Christopher Ward in 2020; a role debut as Violetta Valéry in La traviata at the Slovak National Theatre in 2021; and recent appearances as Liu in Turandot at the Slovak National Theatre, Karolina in Smetana’s The Two Widows in Prague, and in Orff’s Carmina Burana at the Český Krumlov International Music Festival, where she also performed at the opera gala concert alongside Plácido Domingo.
A versatile concert performer, Adriana Kučerová has appeared at the Salzburger Festspiele, BBC Proms in London, Glyndebourne Festival, Prague Spring, Opera Rara Festival in Krakow, Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi, Viva Musica! Festival in Bratislava, Athens-Epidaurus Festival, Tokyo’s Suntory Hall, and the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, among others. She has collaborated with leading orchestras and esteemed conductors including Daniel Barenboim, Gustavo Dudamel, Fabio Luisi, Juraj Valčuha, Christopher Hogwood, Vladimir Jurowski, and Nikolaus Harnoncourt, to name just a few.
A winner of the International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition in 2005, Adriana Kučerová first gained recognition through performances at the Slovak National Theatre. Her international breakthrough came in 2006 at Mozartwoche Salzburg and the Salzburger Festspiele, where she appeared as Serpetta in La finta giardiniera under Ivor Bolton—a production later released on DVD by Deutsche Grammophon. Her discography includes Songs by Bartók, Janáček, Martinů and Suchoň (2016, Viva Musica! Records) with pianist Robert Pechanec, Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 with the London Philharmonic Orchestra under Vladimir Jurowski (2011, LPO), Dvořák’s Love Songs with Christoph Eschenbach and the Thymos Quartet (2011), and two Glyndebourne Festival DVDs with the London Philharmonic Orchestra—Verdi’s Falstaff (2010) and Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel (2009).
A recipient of the Tatra Bank Foundation Arts Award, Adriana Kučerová continues to be celebrated for her vocal beauty, charisma, and magnetic presence on both opera and concert stages, making her one of the most sought-after sopranos of her generation.
At the Viva Musica! festival, Adriana previously performed alongside Pavol Breslik in the West Side Story concert marking the 100th anniversary of Leonard Bernstein’s birth, as well as in a solo recital with pianist Marian Lapšanský. This time, she will appear with the French Thymos Ensemble under the direction of violinist Gabriel Richard (Orchestre de Paris, Thymos Quartet).
“I first met the Thymos Ensemble many years ago in Paris, when we recorded an album of songs by Antonín Dvořák together with Christoph Eschenbach. We later performed together at the Fougères Musicales festival, and I am very much looking forward to performing again with these exceptional musicians – this time at the Viva Musica! festival”, said Adriana Kučerová. Their programme is dedicated to the music of Leoš Janáček, Bohuslav Martinů, Antonín Dvořák, Claude Debussy, and Ernest Chausson.
