Exceptional virtuosity, utmost precision and artistic maturity are the qualities that have established Dalibor Karvay as one of the most distinctive and internationally successful Slovak artists of his generation.

He began playing the violin at the age of three under the guidance of his father. After studying at the Conservatory in Žilina, he continued his training in Vienna in the class of the legendary Professor Boris Kuschnir, and at a young age became a laureate of several international competitions. As a soloist, he has performed with numerous distinguished orchestras and renowned conductors worldwide and is also a highly sought-after chamber musician. From 2020 to 2025, he served as Concertmaster of the Wiener Symphoniker, with whom he also appeared several times as a soloist.

At the concert, originally planned to mark Dalibor Karvay’s 40th birthday (in 2025), he will be joined by the Orchestra Viva Musica! and two outstanding musicians: Dutch cellist Harriet Krijgh and Austrian pianist Markus Schirmer. Together they will perform Beethoven’s Triple Concerto for Piano, Violin and Cello in C major, Op. 56. The second half of the evening will feature Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4 in B-flat major, prepared and artistically directed by Dalibor Karvay.

This concert is very special to me – not only because I celebrated my 40th birthday last year, but above all because I will be performing with outstanding musicians and dear friends – Harriet Krijgh and Markus Schirmer, whom I deeply respect. We will perform Beethoven’s Triple Concerto and Fourth Symphony with the Orchestra Viva Musica! without a conductor, which I see as both a wonderful challenge and a celebration of musical understanding and mutual trust”, added Dalibor Karvay.

Dalibor Karvay is a laureate of the 2011 Tatra Banka Foundation Art Award.
