Their original songwriting and exceptional musicianship have opened doors to prestigious international stages, from the legendary Carnegie Hall in New York to festivals in Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Paris, as well as renowned European jazz platforms such as Jazz Baltica and Nancy Jazz Pulsations. They have performed in fourteen countries worldwide, including three successful tours in Italy, and their music has also been featured on ARTE. “We are very excited to present our music in this unique format at the Viva Musica! festival this year, together with outstanding guest artists and a chamber orchestra. This concert also has a symbolic dimension for us. It was at the Viva Musica! festival in 2020 that we launched our concert tour following the release of our debut album Sleepin’ With The Lights On. It makes our return to the festival after six years all the more special,” say Kristína and Jakub.
Kristína has also gained international recognition, becoming the only European finalist in the prestigious Sarah Vaughan Jazz Vocal Competition in New Jersey in 2022. Lash&Grey are recipients of the Tatra Bank Foundation Award for Art, the Czech Anděl Award for their album Blossoms Of Your World, and two Radio_Head Awards – for their debut Sleepin’ With The Lights On and for Single of the Year After War.
Lash&Grey will perform with an international band featuring bassist Richard Csino (SK), pianist Martin Konvička (CZ), percussionist Nelson Herrera (CU/AT), and drummer Isaac Kizito (UK). They will be joined on stage by the chamber Viva Musica! Orchestra, led by violinist Juraj Tomka and composed of members of the Mucha Quartet along with other outstanding musicians. “We truly value the opportunity to perform this special concert in Bratislava – before an audience close to our hearts, and alongside musicians who inspire us greatly,” add Lash&Grey.
