The Eugen Suchoň Masterclass Series
The 21st edition of the Viva Musica! festival introduces a new addition to its program: a week-long series of international masterclasses.

Bratislava, April 10, 2025

The Eugen Suchoň Masterclass Series will take place from July 6 to 12, 2025, in Pezinok—the birthplace of one of Slovakia’s most important composers, Eugen Suchoň—and are dedicated to honoring his artistic legacy and lifelong commitment to education.

Designed for young vocal talents, the program will focus on operatic, non-operatic, and jazz singing, guided by top Slovak vocalists and educators: Jana Kurucová and Adriana Kučerová (opera), Eva Banči (non-operatic repertoire), and Kristína Mihaľová (jazz).

Aspiring participants are invited to apply via the official registration form at www.vivamusica.sk, where full program details and participation guidelines are also available.

The deadline for applications is May 19, 2025 (inclusive), and the number of participants is limited.

Viva Musica! is a festival rooted in discovery and inspiration. This year, we are proud to expand our program by launching a new educational initiative dedicated to Eugen Suchoň, whose musical legacy forms an integral part of our cultural heritage. Our goal is not only to present exceptional concerts but also to create new opportunities for young artists who will carry our musical tradition forward,” said Janka Kovalčik, festival director.

The masterclasses are organized in partnership with the Eugen Suchoň Elementary School of Arts in Pezinok and held under the auspices of the Mayor of Pezinok, JUDr. Roman Mács.
